It was not the easiest thing getting all of us ready for this photoshoot, but boy was it worth it.  They couldn’t have turned out more perfect considering the circumstances.  This little guy was hungry and cranky and would not crack one smile!  I thought I had timed it just right to where he would be happy and have a full tummy, but of course not.  This is the first of many family shoots where I am sure that is how they all go!  

Lately I will try and take photos of him being cute and smiley, but once I put my phone up to record he will stop what he was doing and just stare at my phone haha.  I need to figure out a way to be more sneaky.  But he is so stinking cute.  I can’t even handle.  If you follow me on SnapChat you will see his cuteness.   I just stare at him all day thinking how on earth did I create such a cute handsome baby.  It kills me!  He is starting to look so much like his daddy.  He was seven weeks old in this photo and I am so sad at how much bigger he has gotten.  It is a bitter sweet feeling, they grow so fast!  I just love him.

So, on another note I had his two month appointment last week, and poor babe had to get his shots.  It was the saddest thing in the whole world.  I was so close to crying, but he slept for a few hours after and didn’t seem to get a fever so that was nice.  He weighed 15 pounds.  Seriously such a chunk.  I was wishing and hoping I would get a chunky baby when I was pregnant, and I got one!  So happy about it.  He is just the happiest guy, and he is now sleeping 6-7 hours at night.  I am in heaven over here!  Hopefully it stays that way.

This year is Oaks first Christmas, and we are making new traditions.  It is definitely more magical with him around and I know each year will continue to get better and better the more aware he is.

A tradition that we have always had since I was little is to open up a gift on Christmas Eve that was always Christmas PJ’s.  I know that most have that same tradition but I have always loved it so much.  That is engrained in my memory of every Christmas as a child.  I loved getting in warm PJ’s with my brothers and sister and crawling in bed anxiously waiting for morning to come.

My dad would always read “Twas the night before Christmas”.  I don’t have that book yet, but need to get it for this little man.  Now that we have him we will be doing those traditions as well.

I am so grateful to spend my Christmas with this little guy.  He has brought so much joy into our home.  He is the light of Christmas over here 🙂

Our new tradition we have made that past couple of years is to go skiing on Christmas Day, which Oaks can’t do yet, but someday!

This Christmas we will be setting out cookies for Santa, reading books, sipping hot cocoa, eating lots of yummy treats and food, and of course snuggled up in our warm PJ’s .  Doesn’t that sound so amazing?   That is what I love about Christmas.  Is the time you get to spend with your loved ones.

Also, the tree is from Walmart from 3 years ago, and the decor is Martha Stewart.  The cookies and pretzels are from Sprouts and are very delish.  I am a sucker for gingerbread cookies.  The cup is from Walmart, and the tray is Target.
