BABY MUST HAVES

Gift Guide - BABY MUST HAVES

I wanted to put together my top things I’m getting for baby girl that I believe to be MUST HAVES.  I used the dockatot, mamaroo swing, dr browns bottles and the ollie swaddle all with Oaks and loved them.  He slept so good in the mamaroo swing the first couple weeks of his life and loved to sit in it.  The dockatot kept him asleep as well as the ollie swaddle.  I loved dr browns bottles with Oaks too.  Thats really the only bottle he really loved.

SLEEPING ACCESSORIES

DOCKATOT:  used this with Oaks and he slept so well in it, plus you can travel with it and have them sleep next to you without feeling like you’ll roll over on them.

HALO BASSINET: this is something thats new to me this baby, but I’ve heard nothing but great things from friends with babies who love this, plus I’ve heard it from you guys too.  I was thinking SNOO, but I honestly couldn’t get myself to justify that price.  If your baby won’t sleep at all, then get the snoo.  I heard you can rent them too.   But Oaks was a pretty good sleeper, so I think it just depends on the baby.  I love this one because It swivels into you so you don’t have to get up in the night.  Has white noise, 30 min timer/reminder that will tell you to put your baby back in so you don’t fall asleep with them.  Also has light and vibrating feature.

OLLIE SWADDLE:  I couldn’t swaddle to save my damn life with Oaks.  I hated doing it, he hated me doing it, so this swaddle was a LIFE SAVER.  Oaks was a strong baby too and he only broke lose a handful of times.  When they break lose, they wake up…. so the tighter they’re swaddled the more likely they’ll snooze away.  I has velcro making it so easy to tuck them in there.  There really is no method to it.  Just strap them in.  It makes them feel comforted like they’re in the womb.

SO, my plan with all three things I just listed is to put the dockatot inside the Halo Bassinet swaddled in the Ollie Swaddle.  I got that tip from a reader so thank you!  Wanted to share that.  I feel that’ll be the method to keeping them asleep.  I’ll keep you guys posted of course!

MAMAROO SWING:  this swing is the only thing Oaks would sleep in for the first two weeks of his life.  He loved the white noise and the rocking back and forth.  He also would nap in it too, so I highly recommend this thing!  Plus it’s nice to have for when you want to do the dishes, take a quick shower etc.

SOFT BABY BLANKET: Oaks still to this day loves his blankie the most that is this texture.  Super soft.  So I got baby girl one just like it but pink.

MUSLIN SWADDLE BLANKETS I LOVE: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE

FAV BABY PAJAMAS: I just was sent a few pairs of these jammies and by far are my favorite so far!

SAVE MOSES BASKET:  the reason I got a moses basket was for cute photos.  I don’t really think its a must, but its really freaking cute and this might be my last baby so I’m just going full out.   I plan to have it around the house to lay her in.  But here is a cute basket if you’re wanting one but don’t want to splurge on it!  WITH SAVE STAND

SPLURGE MOSES BASKET:  This one isn’t the exact one I have, but it looks almost just like it.  I got the Design Dua basket, but they’ve been sold out of it for a while now.

CHANGING BAKSET: you don’t need these either, this is just something I think is super cute and makes your nursery come together!

BATH TIME ACCESSORIES

BATH TUB: this folds into any sink and makes it super easy to give tiny baby a bath.  Plus you can travel with it too.  I had a big bulky tub for Oaks and didn’t love it.  It was hard to clean up too.  A friend of mine has this one and she recommended it!

BATH TOWELS: HERE & HERE

BATH CLOTHES: HERE

BABY SOAP: my favorites for sensitive skin HERE & HERE

BABY LOTION: HERE & HERE

FEEDING/NURSING

MANDELA BREAST PUMP:  I used this with Oaks and loved it! Plan on using with this one too.

MANDELA PUMP & SAVE BAGS:  I loved using these too whenever I needed to save.  I’m going to try and be better at saving a ton of milk this time!  I don’t know the method, but once I do I’ll of course update you.

PUMPING BRA: trust me, you need this!  you can do other things while you pump!

DR BROWN BOTTLES:  I introduced a bottle to Oaks when he was one week old.  He was a little weird at first, but he ended up taking it just fine.  I would pump and let my mom or Tj feed him.  That seemed to help with weaning from breastfeeding later on and I could leave him for 2-3 hours at a time.  He loved the boob more obviously, but It was nice to be able to know he’d be okay for 1-3 feedings so I could get stuff done and leave for a little.  Every baby is different so we’ll see if that method works with her too.

BABY MONITOR

OWLET BABY MONITOR:  This is for reals A MUST.  I’ve heard so many stories of it alerting parents when something is wrong.  I’ve heard of two cases where a they found out their baby had RSV quicker than normal because it kept going red.  Red means lower oxygen levels, I did a post on it when Oaks was born if you want to click HERE and read it.  This was such a great peace of mind after I had Oaks.  If you can invest in anything for your baby, get this!

NURSERY THINGS

ROCKING CHAIR/GLIDER/RECLINE:  I found this on wayfair and love it because it reclines, rocks and swivels.  I didn’t have the recline with Oaks and regretted it so much!

ORGANIZING BASKETS: I found these on amazon and thought they were such a good price for how many you get and the size.  You can use them as drawer or closet organizers.  I am using them to store her bows, swaddle blankets, headbands, binki’s & teething toys.  I’m storing them in her closet.

STROLLER & CARSEAT

UPPABABY VISTA STROLLER: the reason I was drawn to this stroller was because I loved how it converted into a two seat stroller comfortably and not too bulky, and then it also has an option for a piggy back board for your toddler to ride on.  There aren’t a lot that have those options that are actually super cute.  I love the way this one looks too.  I did a IGTV VIDEO on my IG if you want to go check that out too.  The stroller comes with the bassinet and one seat.  So if you just have one thats all you need, but if you plan on having more than one I would highly recommend this one.  You just buy the attachments later on when you need them.  I totally regret not getting a great stroller with Oaks.  I wasn’t really thinking too much ahead when I had him and just got a single stroller.   Plus the stroller was awful.

UPPABABY RUMBLE SEAT (2ND SEAT)  like I said you don’t need this seat right away unless you’ve got two kids.  I mostly plan to use this seat when we go anywhere that requires a lot of walking, like disneyland, zoo etc.

UPPABABY PIGGYBACK BOARD: I have this too because I know Oaks will want to ride on this more than the seat.   I plan to bring this one when we go on shorter walks to the park etc..

LEATHER HANDLE:  I have the brown leather handle on the handle of the seat and the handle on the stroller.  I love this detail so much and you can actually buy the attachment and hook it on!

UPPABABY MESA CARSEAT: I love the looks of this carseat and the safety of course.  I have never used it since it’s brand new. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.  I wanted to get the same as the stroller so I got this one.  It’s super light and very easy to get in and out of the car.

These are all my top products for baby girl right now!  I have every single one of them and In my opinion are the top of the top best baby products.   I learned a lot with Oaks and some of the cheaper versions of things I got for him didn’t end up working out such as his bassinet, stroller and carseat.   BUT we couldn’t afford these things when he was born,  I would’ve had to save for a while, which I didn’t.  So with that said, if you can save for these things!  They’re so worth it.  I wish I would’ve with Oaks but didn’t realize.  Because now we have ended up spending more since the first stroller didn’t work out.  There are just certain things that are worth the money and these things totally are.  I only share things with you guys that are actually worth it!  Like the snoo in my opinion… probably not worth it!  But I’ve never used it so who am I to say that?  But the $250 halo seems like it is!  Has all the features that I want.  Plus when you’re feeding every other hour at night you don’t want to keep getting out of bed, so I love how that swivels into you.
