HAT / SWEATER / SKIRT / BOOTS & HERE

Holy shit you guys.  There are so many cute sock booties right now.  I’m having a moment of I want all of them but can’t afford to buy all haha.  Envious over them.  Like THESE & THESE I’m MAJOR eyeing right now.   These ones I’ve got on have been my favorite pair of boots ever.  The reason is because I love the way they fit.  Tight against the ankle, so you can wear them underneath jeans without it poking out all funky.  And of course with a skirt it looks phenomenal.

So shifting gears here.  Last week I was having a moment… as you guys know on my IG stories I kind spewed it all out.  I was just feeling so caved in with being so overwhelmed all at once.  I think I take on to much when I don’t have a ton of help.  BUT  with that said, I also think I should slow down and take one thing at a time, and thats what I’ve been doing the past week after that moment.  I love what I do, and the connection I’ve made with you guys has been the best part.  The community is so incredible and I realized this when I was having that moment.  So many of you reached out to me with books to read, giving me motivation, empathizing with me.. etc.  You guys made my day and I appreciate you ALL SO MUCH.

I started reading this book recommended by one of you, called “The 5 Second Rule” basically its this exercise you do to make you pull your head of your ass and keep moving.  It sounds SO simple and it really is that simple.  What you do is count backwards before you talk yourself out of it.  Because lets be real, we sometimes don’t want to do what we REALLY need to do, and what will improve our lives.  We all know what we need to do to better our lives, so lets DO IT.  It’s always the most simple things, like driving to the gym, lifting a weight, making dinner, reading, or starting that book you’ve been wanting to write.  You get it.

So I’ve been practicing this rule on myself with literally everything.  When I hear my alarm in the morning, I’ll count backwards… 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  The moment I say 1 I MOVE.  You have to physically move and get shit done.  I do this when I feel super frustrated with Oaks, and about to raise my voice. It keeps me in check and helps me do the things I know I need to do.

I’m only half way through the book, but I’ll update you guys again once I’ve practiced this longer.  So far so good.

Have a great day!

xoxo,

TOP (ALSO LOVE) / JEANS / BAG / JACKET / HEELS

Okay, so I splurged a little on this top.  Heres why..

  1. Its a plaid top so its VERY versatile.  I’m all about versatility.
  2. The quality is absolutely amazing and so comfortable.
  3. It can be worn in any season.  Its lighter weight, so in Fall/Winter you can just wear a jacket.  The Summer you can roll the sleeves up.  Like I said, lightweight so not heavy and hot.

AND for the love guys.  These JEANS are my absolute favorite of all time. The fit, the color, the holes. Just lovey love.

Switching a lane here.  I’m really into positive talk and self love.  I wanted to share a little tip of mine, that I’ve been applying in my life thats helped the way I look at life in general.

Let’s try this challenge

Remove all negative words from your life & see how you feel the next few days.  I apply this a lot to texts, emails etc… when you start out communicating with negative words even though you’re not meaning to be, it sounds negative and makes the other kinda… stand offish?  Would you agree.   Here are the words I’m talking about.

Unfortunately
But
Sorry.. (but)
But Whatever (do whatever you want)
Can’t
Not
Aren’t

Replace them with…

“That sounds so cool!  Here is another idea I want to run by you that I think would work for us…___”
“Thank you for thinking of me or thanks for the invite…I’ve got other plans, lets plan for another time”
“Thank you for being patient”
“Thats cool, lets look at some other options instead” or “These are options we can do, let me know what you think”
“That’s sounds fun! I’m heading to ____ today, let’s plan for another day”

Do you guys catch my drift??  It’s so crazy because even as a positive person, we use these ways of communicating without even realize how it’s coming across.  I feel that it’s so important to be communicating this way through emails & texts because you don’t know the tone of their voice.  In these days, we should be practicing removing those negative words and replacing with positive so the other person can take it the right way, and you can get off on the right start.

Those are my thoughts for the day that I wanted to share!  Let me know if you liked this little post and I’ll continue to do more.
