TOP / JEANS / BOOTS / BAG / EARINGS

Kinda loving the trend with the bow tie look on the wrists.  I bought this top in white too because I love it so much.  Express is having their buy 1 get the other 50% off right now, so you should go check it out asap!  These booties I got last year and are sold out, but I linked some cute over the knee gray Steve Maddens.  They’re equally as perfect and cute.

Switching gears here,  I want to touch on something today.  EXCUSES….. I just really want to spill out what I’m thinking.  We all make excuses.  We all have them, but how do we stop them?  Why is it so hard to actually do what we know will make us better?  It’s always the most basic things and simple tasks that we make excuses for….  to waking up early, going to the gym, reading, studying, etc…  here is what we say…. “I’ll start tomorrow”  “just this last cookie and I’m starting tomorrow” or “I don’t have time”.   WHAT THE HELL.  Why do we do this to ourselves?   Everyone has TIME if they want it bad enough.  We all have the same hours in a day.  It’s how we use them thats important.

The answer is WANT.  You have to want to change, you have to want it so bad that you won’t let anything get in your way.  It’s just really that simple.  If you find yourself riding that excuse train, take a moment and really think about what it is you want, think about how much time you spend in front of a tv, or on your phone (which is the biggest thing for everyone)  The things we don’t want to do, are the things that will ALWAYS improve our lives.  Make us stronger, smarter, better, healthier… etc.  It may seem like your enemy at the beginning but it’ll be your best friend in the end.

HAT / SWEATER / SKIRT / BOOTS & HERE

Holy shit you guys.  There are so many cute sock booties right now.  I’m having a moment of I want all of them but can’t afford to buy all haha.  Envious over them.  Like THESE & THESE I’m MAJOR eyeing right now.   These ones I’ve got on have been my favorite pair of boots ever.  The reason is because I love the way they fit.  Tight against the ankle, so you can wear them underneath jeans without it poking out all funky.  And of course with a skirt it looks phenomenal.

So shifting gears here.  Last week I was having a moment… as you guys know on my IG stories I kind spewed it all out.  I was just feeling so caved in with being so overwhelmed all at once.  I think I take on to much when I don’t have a ton of help.  BUT  with that said, I also think I should slow down and take one thing at a time, and thats what I’ve been doing the past week after that moment.  I love what I do, and the connection I’ve made with you guys has been the best part.  The community is so incredible and I realized this when I was having that moment.  So many of you reached out to me with books to read, giving me motivation, empathizing with me.. etc.  You guys made my day and I appreciate you ALL SO MUCH.

I started reading this book recommended by one of you, called “The 5 Second Rule” basically its this exercise you do to make you pull your head of your ass and keep moving.  It sounds SO simple and it really is that simple.  What you do is count backwards before you talk yourself out of it.  Because lets be real, we sometimes don’t want to do what we REALLY need to do, and what will improve our lives.  We all know what we need to do to better our lives, so lets DO IT.  It’s always the most simple things, like driving to the gym, lifting a weight, making dinner, reading, or starting that book you’ve been wanting to write.  You get it.

So I’ve been practicing this rule on myself with literally everything.  When I hear my alarm in the morning, I’ll count backwards… 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  The moment I say 1 I MOVE.  You have to physically move and get shit done.  I do this when I feel super frustrated with Oaks, and about to raise my voice. It keeps me in check and helps me do the things I know I need to do.

I’m only half way through the book, but I’ll update you guys again once I’ve practiced this longer.  So far so good.

Have a great day!

xoxo,
