I have officially found the best baby monitor out there. I have found comfort and peace sleeping at night with this. Every parent is worried if their baby is breathing at night, and constantly checking on them every 5 minutes, and not really falling asleep because of it. Well this monitor completely changed that for me! I can actually sleep when my baby sleeps, and not have to stress every 5 seconds about that.
Here is how it works. The sock you see on his left foot will detect their heart rate and oxygen levels. The monitor uses the same type of technology hospitals use to check heart rate and oxygen saturation.
It is called pulse oximetry and it is the little clip they put on your finger at the hospital. A small light shines through your skin and the amount of blood flow and oxygen levels are estimated based on how much light is transmitted to the sensor. It is compatible with your smart phone, so you can check anywhere from your device.
Owlet is designed to sound an alert if your child’s heart rate dips too low, rises too high, or if their oxygen level drops below a preset threshold. The device on the nightstand will be green if its good, yellow if the sock has fallen off, and red if heart rate is to low or high and oxygen drops. An alarm will go off if something is wrong.
