WHY ROSEHIP OIL

IMG_1442ROSE HIP OIL AKA THE OIL FROM HEAVEN.

If you follow me on my snapchat and IG stories, you know that I’ve been obsessed with this oil.  I drench this shit ALL over myself at night.  It’s really the secret sauce to skincare.  It’ll solve all your problems, well, it did for me and I’ve converted some of you already, my family, and friends and they all LOVE this stuff. Ive been using it for over 6 months now, so it feels right to give you a solid blog post on it!

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT’S ROSE HIP OIL?

SO, Rosehip oil is harvested from the seeds of rose bushes predominately grown in Chile, and is full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, all while reducing scars and fine lines.  The combination of properties in rose hip oil seems to combat the damage. The antioxidants, which combat free radicals that cause damage, and vitamin A, combined with the oil’s essential fatty acids, help improve skin tone, texture and pigmentation.

Vitamin A is what you’re going to find in a lot of skincare products, like retinol for example.  Vitamin A is 100% what you need in your skin asap!   It’s all around going to improve your skin tone, texture and pigmentation, all while reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

HELPS WITH SCARING.  The ultimate beauty ingredient trio—anti-inflammatory fatty acids and vitamins A and C—make this oil the ideal solution for fading any facial scars or unsightly marks. “Together these help undo and prevent oxidative damage and help the skin re-build collagen. It can help fade skin hyperpigmentation and potentially minimize the appearance of fine lines and even stretch marks”  says Tsippora Shainhouse, MD, FAAD, clinical instructor at the University of Southern California.

All together this oil will is good for the following,

  • REDUCES THE APPEARANCE OF FINE LINES & WRINKLES
  • IMPROVEST SKIN TEXTURE & SKIN TONE
  • MOISTURIZING
  • BRIGHTENING
  • & FIRMING

HOW TO USE?

I use this at night to remove my make up with a cotton pad, then I use it as the last step of my routine.  So after my Alpha Beta Moisturizer, I add on the Rose Hip Oil and gently dap it all over my face, neck and chest.  I use about 5 pumps.   Then I’ll add some into my body lotion and rub it all over my body.

I wake up every morning looking dewy and fresh!  I love this oil so much and highly recommend it!  I’ve noticed all of those benefits in my skin and can’t believe what a difference it makes!

WHAT KIND TO GET?

PLEASE be sure you get the right kind.  I’ve only ever found one brand thats 100% natural with nothing else in it. You want to stay away from brands that have other chemicals mixed in with the oil.  I’ve tried one that was a little less expensive and ended up breaking out really bad, so I recommend getting the INSTA NATURAL brand.

You can find my SKINCARE ROUTINE by clicking that link, that I apply before this oil every night.

Do you use this oil?  If so, how do you like it?

Thanks for reading!

SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR NEWBIES

IMG_8756 (1)

IMG_8755

IMG_8756 (1)I know how overwhelming it can be when you see someone have a 6+ step process for skincare morning and night.  I use about 5 products at night (MY SKINCARE ROUTINE) and 3-4 in the morning.  I never started out with that many.  In fact, I only use to cleanse, moisturize and use sunscreen.   I would highly recommend starting small for those so brand new to skincare, so I wanted to put together a 3 step routine you can start with, if you’re looking into taking better care of your skin.  So HERE WE GO.

  1. CLEANSER. Elta Md Cleanser.   Cleanse in the morning (ONLY IF YOU HAVE WORKED OUT) cleansing can dry out your skin, so If I haven’t worked out in the morning I just rinse with cold water a few times and go onto the next step, but I ALWAYS cleanse at night of course.  I usually cleanse in the morning after I work out.  But like I said, if not, then I don’t.
  2. MOISTURIZER.  Dr Dennis Gross Exfoliating Moisturizer.  I’ve been using these moisturizer for a couple months, and LOVE IT. Not heavy, but creamy enough to get the job done.
  3. SUNSCREEN.  PAleeeeease wear sunscreen. Everyday ALL day, in the winter, summer, fall, spring.  I’m telling you, it’s so important.  Who wants premature aging, wrinkles and sun spots? NOT ME.  WHY I WEAR SPF EVERYDAY.  I LOVE ELTA MD UV CLEAR WITH TINT.  I’ve tried many, and thats my favorite!
  4. ROSE HIP OIL.  This oil will actually do the opposite and make you LESS oily and prevent breakouts.  Thats a whole other blog post, but get it!  I swear by this stuff.  I use this only at night, on my face hands, neck and chest.

THATS IT FOLKS.  But really, 3 simple steps to start a good routine.  YOUR JOB? BE CONSISTENT FRIENDS. This is so important.  It’s just like with anything else.  You want results, you must have consistency.   Once you feel like you can add in something else, add in a serum after cleansing at night OR better yet, Dr Dennis Gross Peel Pads (LIFE CHANGING!) but don’t overwhelm yourself.  Start slow!

What products do you guys use you swear by?

Have a great day!
