So, switching lanes here.  I wanted to share something TJ and I have been doing the past month.

Since it’s the Holidays, and we don’t have a budget for going out to eat as much as we normally do, that led me to think date night was out the door, SO… I told TJ we needed to get creative with our date nights…. which is kinda brilliant?

Each week, one of us will “surprise” each other with a date night of what we’re doing.

Side note.  I think it is SO important to have a date night just the two of you, with absolutely NO distractions… no phone, no tv, no kids.

You don’t want to get lost in the hustle and bustle of day to day routine.  You will, if you don’t make time for each other.

Anyways, so we decided to do that, and it’s been really fun!

So far here are some ideas, I wanted to share with you, so maybe you can give them a try.  They’re VERY simple, but that is how we’re.

At home dates:  Put the kids to bed, make his, or her favorite dinner, or grab take out, put away ANY AND ALL distractions,  so you can sit and talk to each other.  SO simple, yet so effective and good 😉 trust me.

Date night out: get take out, and go for a drive, and talk.  Go out to eat and share a meal.  Surprise them at work, and take them to a movie they’ve been wanting to see.  Go for a walk and DON’T bring your phones (not as easy in the winter)

The biggest thing is, not to have any distractions while you’re spending time together.  Our phones are our biggest problem, and we can all admit that!

You don’t realize how much time you are taking away from each other while, both on your phone on a day to day basis, so just take at least 2 hours with each other without any sort of distraction.  You will feel so good, and your marriage will stay strong!

Listen, I am not a relationship expert ha 😉  and I have only been married 5 years, but I will say this, my marriage is really strong because we do this, and we both know each other and want to make time for each other.

After having Oaks, I realized that we REALLY needed to make time for each other, or we are going to get lost in the day to day.  And it is so easy to do if you let it.

What do you all do for date nights?  Share your ideas below!  I would love to know!

Have a great day, chat with you later!

Happy almost Friday!

So I wanted to answer a few questions that you guys have asked me.. it is mostly about macros and what not.

With breastfeeding and losing weight, I didn’t necessarily focus so much on losing weight the first couple months of his life.  I ate nice clean and whole foods with lots of nutrients.  No food dyes, no artificial flavors and no fast food. REAL food.

I didn’t count macros until he was about 2 months–ish.  BUT at the time I wanted to lose weight, but of course, wanted to do it my normal healthy way.   I was still breastfeeding at the time, so I set a goal every day on Fitness Pal, which by the way is where I count my macros.

Anyways, I would eat around 2,000-2,500 calories a day… it could’ve been more, because I just listened to my body, and I DID NOT limit myself and cut myself off while nursing.

I ate foods rich in nutrients and ate when I was hungry.

So, a lot have been asking what my percentage is on my macros everyday.   I am not a huge stickler on counting them, but I do try and hit around the same number everyday.

So right now, I eat around 1,700-1,800 calories a day.  Percentage of carbs is 35%, fat is 30% and protein is 35%.

Now, this is what my body personally needs right now, so it really differs from person to person.  It really depends on what your goal is.

I don’t want to lose weight, I am just maintaining a healthy weight, and doing it for my overall health.  And to me I feel SO much better when I am eating clean. My overall energy levels are up, my mood, and my strength.

It is so important to give our bodies what it needs to live a good life.  If you’re feeling sluggish, tired, grumpy, sick, bloated, bad skin, headaches all of that jazz.. really check what you’re putting in your body.

You really are what you eat.  Instead of taking pills, and using all these special creams for your face… just look at your diet and go from there before taking other measures.

But please please feel free to email me any time about your personal goals, or really just anything, or even to say hi, and we can chat!  I LOVE to hear from you guys, and I love more than anything to be here for you, and also love learning from you too.

The BEST way to chat with me is through email at lovebylynn@gmail.com.

OK, so the boots though.  MY FAV right now.  They have basically been glued to my body.  If you’re looking for a  perfect pair of basic black over the knee boots, these Steve Madden ones are a must.

Anyways, you guys have a great day, and I will chat with you later.
