TOP / SKIRT / BOOTS (LOVE HERE TOO)

HAT / BAG

I did a poll on my IG stories and asked if you like me chatting about motivation and real life when I post an outfit, and more than half of you said YES.  So here I am haha.  Going to keep chatting about it, because I can’t just post an outfit and not give you any sort of inspiration or information to walk away with.

I’m always reading different books, and listening to podcasts to try their tips and then make them my own.  I’m all about the self help books and trying to better myself in all areas, so that I can be the best mom, wife, friend, citizen etc…  because why not?  So here is something I’ve been doing thats really made me feel less overwhelmed throughout my day.

I wake up and do these 3 things instead of going through my head and thinking of the huge list of things I have to do, I do this.

MY 3 THINGS…

  1. Whats my NOURISH today?
  2. Whats my BODY today?
  3. Whats my MIND today?

For example my nourish today is EAT MORE VEGETABLES.  My body is GOING FOR A RUN outside.  My MIND is have more patience.

It’s pretty simple when you look at it like that.  It helps you break it down day by day, instead of feeling like you’ve got so much to do and so much to accomplish.  Making tiny improvements and tiny marks in each day, lead up to bigger things in life.  Bigger accomplishments, better mood, better attitude, better health, better YOU.

Have a great week guys!  Take it day by day and more importantly have FUN with life!

HAT / SWEATER / SKIRT / BOOTS & HERE

Holy shit you guys.  There are so many cute sock booties right now.  I’m having a moment of I want all of them but can’t afford to buy all haha.  Envious over them.  Like THESE & THESE I’m MAJOR eyeing right now.   These ones I’ve got on have been my favorite pair of boots ever.  The reason is because I love the way they fit.  Tight against the ankle, so you can wear them underneath jeans without it poking out all funky.  And of course with a skirt it looks phenomenal.

So shifting gears here.  Last week I was having a moment… as you guys know on my IG stories I kind spewed it all out.  I was just feeling so caved in with being so overwhelmed all at once.  I think I take on to much when I don’t have a ton of help.  BUT  with that said, I also think I should slow down and take one thing at a time, and thats what I’ve been doing the past week after that moment.  I love what I do, and the connection I’ve made with you guys has been the best part.  The community is so incredible and I realized this when I was having that moment.  So many of you reached out to me with books to read, giving me motivation, empathizing with me.. etc.  You guys made my day and I appreciate you ALL SO MUCH.

I started reading this book recommended by one of you, called “The 5 Second Rule” basically its this exercise you do to make you pull your head of your ass and keep moving.  It sounds SO simple and it really is that simple.  What you do is count backwards before you talk yourself out of it.  Because lets be real, we sometimes don’t want to do what we REALLY need to do, and what will improve our lives.  We all know what we need to do to better our lives, so lets DO IT.  It’s always the most simple things, like driving to the gym, lifting a weight, making dinner, reading, or starting that book you’ve been wanting to write.  You get it.

So I’ve been practicing this rule on myself with literally everything.  When I hear my alarm in the morning, I’ll count backwards… 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  The moment I say 1 I MOVE.  You have to physically move and get shit done.  I do this when I feel super frustrated with Oaks, and about to raise my voice. It keeps me in check and helps me do the things I know I need to do.

I’m only half way through the book, but I’ll update you guys again once I’ve practiced this longer.  So far so good.

Have a great day!

xoxo,
